I sure hope that the resolution of this (on your phone?) is sufficient to show what I’d like to show with this pic. Look to the right of the bee, both middle and above and below. She’s thrown off a shower of yellow pollen. Hope you can see it. And recall that the focal plane (that razor thin slice of “what is actually in focus”) is just so small…and the pollen that you’re seeing is in focus. There’s tons more pollen, unseen (because not in focus) in both the foreground and the background. It’s coming off her in a (hemi)sphere – not a flat plane that matches the focus. Hope that made sense. I’m feeling a little loosey in my brain right now…
