More October Asters

I’m running out of things to say about asters in the fall. You’re probably tired of reading the nonsense anyway. Hope you’re not tired of looking at them.

So the flower yesterday…I knew I knew it. And maybe I won’t forget it this time. It’s called the “stemmy four-nerve daisy”. Or “stemmy hymenoxys”. Hmmmm. Scientific name is Tetraneuris scaposa.

Guess we’re supposed to say “binomal name”, though. Argot. Exclusivist pedantry. What else is common parlance today that will be rubeish tomorrow?

You don’t come here for the rants, do you?
