Two too Messy on the Lavender
The background is a fun disaster. Not the bokeh of creamy legend for sure, but I do like the glarey orb-ish stuff in the background. It’s frowned upon by photographers, generally, to have those light orbs in the photos, but I usually like them. They’re an artifact of light and physics and lens…and I think they often belong. And sometimes enhance. Here they’re messy. But still…
Crocus and Flight
This one almost made it into the calendar this year, but the light wasn’t all that perfect. But the shot is a lot of fun. Two bees, in flight, pollen basket… And lovely flowers. Can’t wait for spring! Earliest bee I ever shot was on January 28th a few years ago, so…that’s really just eight weeks away. Likely won’t happen that early this year, but still…kinda makes me happy.

Here’s a really fun one from August of 2019. The little one on the sunflower is a sweat bee. And the one photobombing (and so nicely in focus, for once) is, I think, a leafcutter of some sort. Great eye. Fun shot. Happy Friday. And enjoy!
