On the Phlox

Dunno why, but it tickles me that phlox starts with “ph” rather than “f”. I want to make the “p” not quite so silent (yet still blend to the “f”). But you showed up here to look at bees…not hear me yammer about phonetics.

Like larkspurs and sunflowers and many others, the phlox seem to wander from year to year. And they hybridize themselves lots. So many surprising colors…and colors lost. Not a great one for pollinators in my book, but that may have more to do with me not noticing and less to do with reality. I like catching them on the phlox, though.
