When I figure out which variety this is, I’ll edit this post. But, for now, it’ll be “an ornamental cherry” – that’s in full bloom and just thick with bees. Here’s a nice shot of both a sweet bee and some blossoms. Happy spring! I’m lovin’ it!

This One is Probably in the Ornamental Cherry
This tree, if it’s the one I’m thinking of, has finally hit its stride. It’s a graft onto another trunk. Initially, the graft was about the size of a golf ball and looked really odd. Now it has mostly grown into itself. Now the trick is keeping the not-quite-so-umbrella-like branches off the path of the people on the sidewalk. But the bees really enjoy it. And it looks wonderful when it blooms. Won’t be long until that happens, too!
