I don’t get very many bee shots in the daylilies – but here’s a neat one of a pollen-laden sweat bee hard at work. Seems the honeybees like the daylilies more than the natives so I was pleased with this grab. That pollen basket is so full on her.

A new bee…every day

I don’t get many bees on daylilies. And when I do, it’s very seldom a native. This is a cute shot of a sweat bee. Pollen all over the place and you get a really good look at her left mandible.
I miss the bees outside and it’s only November.
This one kinda speaks for itself. So I’ve not got much to say – except I wish you could see it on a huge monitor (rather than your phone). Knocked a little off the right side, but the detail is remarkable.
Pretty rare to catch one in a daylily – much like irises. Well, maybe a little better for bees, but not by much. They also like to get down so far in them – much like in the geraniums – so a good shot is often tough. And they don’t stay very long, either. I’ve got mixed feelings about daylilies. As their name suggests, each bloom only lasts a day…but they’re often very prolific. And they do add color after much of the Spring stuff is done. Anyway…enjoy! Nice face shot…and her tongue…
