Great bits of petal in the shot I guess. But the damselfly is fantastic. Seems to be the predominant color of ’em around here. And the copyright/URL matches.
Bonus: Another Damselfly
Was checking a bunch of lavender looking (with lots of hope) for bees. Wasn’t quite ready yet. But this pretty one showed up. Also saw a dragonfly today, but it sure had no interest in holding still for me. Still looking…
Oh, and I think I should mention: every day when I put the copyright (©bees.photo) on a picture, I pick a contrasting color from another part of the picture. Today’s purple (in the text) came from the damselfly’s eye. I never knew!
Bonus – Aqua Damsel Fly on the Lavender
Lots of neat colors in this one – maybe not complimentary, but nature does what nature does. And we’d all do well to remember that.
Bonus – Damsel Fly Mugshot
Hardly a worthy shot on most levels – but pretty spiffy on some others. Right in your face. Its face. Fun.
Trying to get out of here to start driving to Fort Collins for the art show this weekend. Check it out if you’re in the area: Art in the Square – Civic Center Park – 225 LaPorte Ave, Fort Collins.
Bonus – Damselfly on a Daylily
This one kinda speaks for itself. So I’ve not got much to say – except I wish you could see it on a huge monitor (rather than your phone). Knocked a little off the right side, but the detail is remarkable.
Bonus – Another Damselfy
Here’s another blue/green one. Occurs to me that this is a messy photo. But…neat flier…and I love the salvia. And, after all, it is a bonus.
Bonus – Damselfly on a Cone Flower
Great year for damselflies. They rarely land anywhere interesting…if at all. But there are so many around. This blue/green one seems to be the most common. There’s one spot in the northernmost garden that they almost swarm among some kind of white flower. Looks like they’re hunting as they hover.
