Another on the Buckwheat

Just a simple shot of beeface on buckwheat. Check out the narrow depth of focus (foreground and background blurred). I like this one for the posture – that back leg out isn’t a shot I get often. And the face and the wings. This particular buckwheat has turned a reddish-peach color. The bees no longer frequent it, but the color is remarkable. Beautiful addition to the garden.

Bonus – Confession – and Honeybee on a Buckwheat

Generally I try to pre-load and schedule a post for each day to fire just after midnight. Sometimes, in the evening, I don’t get to it…so I’ll post around 5:00 a.m. or so. Today, however, I turned off the alarm and slept until it was alarmingly late. And then pushed up a neat pic of a bee on a Trumpet Vine.

But I’ve been getting so many great shots lately…and I really wanted something fresh. Not that there’s a thing wrong with a shot from last Fall. But there are so many bees and flowers out now…

So here’s one on a Buckwheat (Eriogonum). They’ve been all over it the last couple of days – as have the natives. So here’s a more current bonus for today.

I feel better now…
