Because we don’t have any zinnias, I think I took this one across the street at our neighbor’s house. She looks good on orange. And the zinnia photographs so well.
Taken this year toward the end of March. The light is a little blasty on the flower, but the bee looks great. Look at the size of that pollen bucket. She’s done well.
Another from bumbleday at Red Butte Garden. The light is awful on this…but the bee is wonderful. That profile again.
Not sure what those lines in the background are…but I don’t hate them. This one taken in early afternoon sun. Nice on the eye. And the profile again.
This is a super-neat bee. Really seems to love the sunflowers. Pretty good shot of it. Notice how long the antenna is. They’re pretty territorial and will often bump other bees that are feeding…and then take their spot. Love their eyes.
But the detail…on the face…and the light on those hairy legs. Again, looks like a sweat bee but probably is not.
Lotta carry on baggage in that bucket. Neat shot…so intent on her destination.
Weird light on this one. But the eye is fantastic. So is the hair on the thorax.
Another one that just says Summertime! From July of 2018. Like the cloud. Almost looks like a cartoon background. The bumbles are Brown-belted.
Just a journeyman shot of a bee doing her thing. Super-neat in profile. And tho these flowers don’t seem to last long enough for my taste, they’re sure a favorite of the pollinators.
